Acetyl-H-acid.
50 kg. Nitrite o-Toluidine is charged into 500 l. water and 180 l. HCl
19.50Be’, cooled with 15,000
kg. ice and diazotized with 50 kg.
NaNO2. Volume 2,000 l.
52.5 kg. Nitrite
N-acetyl-H-acid is
dissolved neutral with Na2CO3 in 500 l. water and the solution
cooled to 50C. with 1,000 kg. ice.
Run the diazo into
this solution simultaneously with 60 kg.
Na2CO3 as 10%
solution. When coupling is
complete, heat to 600C. and
filter. To the filtrate add salt to 7%
of volume and filter.
Dry in vacuo at 900C. and standardize with Salt. Yield = 605 kg. Type.
