Reduction: 磺化物，见CAS号[96-73-1].
The reduction vessel is charged with 4600 l. of water
(or liquors from previous reductions), 1200 kg. of iron powder and 20 kg. of
30% hydrochloric acid and heated to 950C. The p-chloronitrobenzene
sulphonic acid is gradually fed in and agitation continued until reduction is
complete on a laboratory test. When the reduction has been passed by the
laboratory, 80 kg. of soda ash are added to neutralize followed by 580 kg. of
34.5% caustic liquor. The iron oxide is screened off and washed well with hot
water. The mother liquor, which has a density of 150Be’ or Sp. Gr.
1.116, is now made acid with 1000 kg. of 380Be’ H2SO4 , cooled with agitation to 250C. and filtered on a nutsche. The
nutsche cake is washed acid-free with 2000-3000 l. of water. The mother liquor
has a density of 17-190Be’ or Sp. Gr. 1.152 and the wash liquors are
used again for the next reduction.
Yield: 1430 kg. of
4-chloroaniline-3-sulphonic acid as a 60-65% paste = 80.5% theory.

还原: 还原锅中加入4600 升水（或上次还原的液体），1200 公斤铁粉和20公斤30% 盐酸，加热到 950C。逐渐加入对氯硝基苯磺酸，继续搅拌直至还原完全（经实验室检验）。加入80 kg 碳酸钠进行中和，随后加入580 kg 34.5% 苛性钠溶液。过滤去铁泥，用热水很好洗涤。滤液比重1.116，用1000 kg 35%硫酸酸化，搅拌冷却到250C.过滤，滤饼用2000-3000升水洗至不含酸。滤液比重1.152，洗水再用于下次还原。
得到1430 kg 4-氯苯胺-3-磺酸的60-65%滤饼，收率80.5% （抄注： Nutsche 是抽滤槽）
