Materials:
4-Chloronitrobenzen-3-sulphonyl chloride ≈228 kg. NaNO2 (= 2 batches).。
N-ethylaniline 425 kg. ≈243 kg.
NaNO2.
Soda ash 290 kg.。
Sulphuric acid 600Be’ 75 kg.
Process:
The vat is charged with 3500 l. of water, 425 kg. of N-ethylaniline
and 145 kg. of soda ash. One batch of
the acid chloride (≈114 kg. NaNO2) is then added, followed by a further 145 kg.
of soda ash, and then a second batch of acid chloride. The batch is stirred for 5 hours at room
temperature and then heated to 50-60℃.
Test: A sample is filtered, tested to see if still alkaline, and the
excess N-ethylaniline distilled off with steam.
The liquor is made acid, reduced with zinc dust and estimated. 250 cc. = 0.8 g. NaNO2. M. Pt. of precipitated product, 135-136℃.
If the sample is good it is further heated to 90℃. to convert any traces of acid chloride still remaining. It is stirred until cold, made acid to Congo,
filtered, and washed with hot water.
Yield = 90-91% theory. It can
be dried at 60-70℃. in vacuum.

在1200 L橡胶衬里缩合釜中加入3500 L水，425 kg N-乙基苯胺和145 kg 碳酸钠，然后加入相当于114 kg 亚硝酸钠的第一批酰氯，随后再加入145 kg 碳酸钠，并加入相当于114 kg 亚硝酸钠的第二批酰氯，在室温下搅拌3小时，然后加热到50-60℃。
检测：取样过滤，试验是否仍呈碱性。水蒸汽蒸馏出过量的N-乙基苯胺。将液体酸化，用锌粉还原并滴定，250 ml 相当于0.8 g 亚硝酸钠。沉淀产物的熔点：135-136℃。
如果测定合格，再加热到90℃以转化任何痕量的未转变的酰氯。搅拌冷却，酸化至对刚果红呈酸性，过滤，热水洗涤。产品收率90-91%。它可以在60-70℃真空干燥。
