Manufactured by the chlorination of phthalic anhydride.  The product is a mixture of the three isomers.  Yield: 88.2% th.

The materials usage per 1,000 kg. of product is: - 

715 kg. phthalic anhydride.。  755 kg. chlorine.。  1,430 kg. 60% oleum.。  2 kg. iodine.。   390 kg. salt (for cooling).

The average monthly production in tones for the years 1939-1944 inclusive was 2.9, 1.4, 0.7, nil, 1.0.
