Process: 

2,200 lb. sulphuric acid monohydrate, 88 lb. water, 344 lb. p-chlorobenzoic acid (M. Pt. 243℃.) are made into a slurry and 792 lb. mixed acid (30% HNO3 – 70% H2SO4) added slowly at 80℃.  Temperature then raised slowly to 105℃. with the addition of a quantity of 792 lb, mixed acid (30% HNO3 – 70% H2SO4).  Stir two hours at 105℃.  Cool to 40℃. and blow into 550 gall. Water and 2,420 lb. ice to precipitate the dinitrobody.  Filter to yield a 75-80% paste.

Yield 488 lb. 100% M. W. 246.5 = 90% theory.  Melting point of product: 158℃.

Plant:  (1) Nitrator:  880 gall. Capacity, agitated.   (2) Precipitation vessel, bricked-lined, mild-steel.

Plant capacity:  2.85 tons per month.

Production:  very small.

将2200 磅硫酸一水合物，88磅水和344磅对氯苯甲酸（熔点243℃）打浆，在80℃缓缓加入792磅混酸（30% HNO3 和70% H2SO4），然后温度缓缓升至105℃，同时加入792磅混酸（30% HNO3 和70% H2SO4），在105℃搅拌2小时。冷却至40℃，加入550加仑水和2420磅冰，以沉淀二硝基物，过滤得75-80% 滤饼，相当于488磅100% 4-氯-3,5-二硝基苯甲酸，收率90%。产品熔点158℃。
