Method:
The 2 cubic metre capacity ebamelled vessel is charged with 1940 kg. o-dichlorobenzene (Note 2) and at 500C. 100 kg. aminoethylimide base, 42.5 kg. anhydrous sodium acetate and 87.5 kg. chloranil added. The materials must be dried immediately prior to use. The batch is agitated at 60-650C. for 2 hours (Note 3)(Test 1). Then it is slowly (5 hours) heated up under vacuum to 1150C. until no more acetic acid can be detected in the distillate passing over. Then it is now heated to 1500C. without vacuum and at this temperature benzene sulphonyl chloride (40-50 kg.) added. It is now heated to 176-1800C. and stirred at this temperature until no further acetic acid distils off (4-8 hours). It is subsequently cooled, diluted with o-dichlorobenzene (500 kg.) and blown hot (1000C. – see Note 4) on to the pressure nutsch and there washed from the reaction pan with dichlorobenzene (200 litres) heated to 1000C., until a sample of the reaction product boiled up in the laboratory no longer shows a blue coloue in the filtrate but only a reddish fluorescence. The dichlorobenzene is removed from the filter cake with steam in the adjoibing (是原文)still; the product filtered off on the nutsch and washed with water. It is dried at 1000C. in a drying cupboard.
Yield 80% of the theoretical on aminoethylcarbazole.
Tests: Test 1: No more diazotisable base should be detected in the filtrate of a sample from the pan.

This product was made by the condensation of chloranil with 3-amino-N-ethyl-carbazole in ortho-dichloro-
-benzne, followed by ring closure in the same condensation mass by the addition of p-toluene sulfochloride (or benzene sulfochloride) which facilitates the splitting out of the water. The crude dye was obtained by this simplified method in a yield of at least 80% of the theory.

加注： 关于C.I. 颜料紫23，早期已有颜料紫R一说，但它主要是用于生产C.I. 直接蓝108。以后才发现它的特别用处，因此出现了C.I. 颜料紫23。问题是国内外（包括德国），无一提到它在PB报告中的有关研究和生产内容。事实上，我过德文原件，可惜未抄录，它比英文译文的BIOS和FIAT好多了。当然，这已是历史。我的答案，可能是缩微胶卷不受欢迎！以上列出的PB报告号仅供参考！
