This product is the calcium salt of the 6G dye.  43.4 kg PTMSA sodium salt 100% are dissolved in 5400 l. water at the boil and the solution cooled with ice to 2⁰C. A solution of 85.5 kg HCl 20⁰Be’ in 900 l. water is then added and with the temperature at 2⁰C.  18 kg NaNO₂ 99% dissolved in 900 l. water are added and stirring continued for 20 minutes.

57.6 kg BON  66.0 kg NaOH 45% liquor and 12.0 kg Na₂CO₃ are dissolved in hot water and the volume made to 4500 l. with ice and water and the temperature adjusted to 5⁰C. The diazo is run into the BON solution at 5⁰C. over a ¹/₂ hour period.  Then 39 kg CaCl₂ dissolved 1:10 in water are added and the lake stirred overnight. The following morning the charge is flooded and washed by decantation (2 waters).  Then 27 kg Turkey Red Oil dissolved in water are added under agitation.  Then 90 kg CaCl₂ dissolved 1:10 in water are run in. The lake is then heated to 70⁰C, cooled by the addition of 1000 kg ice and then filtered, washed and dried.

Yield:  126 kg.
