o-Aminodiphenylsulphone à Gamma Acid.
o-Aminodiphenylsulfone (M.W. 223), = 75 kg. NaNO2 , is stirred overnight in 225 l. Hydrochloric Acid 19.50Be’. Next morning cool with 1,500 kg. ice to
00C. and diazotize with 84
kg. Sodium Nitrite as 30% solution. Volume 3,500-4,000 l. Temperature 5-100C. The Nitrite excess is removed with Sulphamic
Acid.
Gamma Acid, = 82.5 kg. NaNO2 , is dissolved in the
coupling vat in 9,000 l. water with
about 45 l. Caustic Soda as 40%
solution. The weakly alkaline solution is then made congo-violet acid with
about 100 l. Hydrochloric Acid 19.50Be’.
The diazo is
run down during 1/2 hour. Temperature 17-180C. The coupling is finished in 3 hours and is then filtered. The
paste is stirred in a solution of 700
kg. salt in 7,000 l. water for 2
hours, filtered and dried in vacuum at 950C.
Standardise with salt. Yield = 1,170 kg. Type.
