Acetblau 39 and 59. It has only been
made on the semi-scale.
n-Butanol (60 l.) and 1-amino-5-naphthol (48
kg.: sublimed and ground) are charged to an enameled kettle fitted with a lead
reflux condenser. The mixture is stirred
at 10-15℃. and nitrogen or carbon
dioxide blown through for 1 hour to displace air. Epichlorhydrin (30 kg.) is then added and the
mixture heated to 75℃. during 3 hours where-upon
a more vigorous reaction sets in carrying the temperature up to 87℃. The batch
is cooled to 75℃. and stirred at this
temperature for 2 hours. It is then
refluxed 10 hours at 109-114℃. after which it is cooled
slightly and 75 l. of n-butanol added.
After stirring a short time at 95℃. to give a better physical form the batch is cooled to 45℃. and blown to a pressure filter by means of
nitrogen. It is washed on the filter
with butanol till all dark liquor is washed out and the residue is a grayish-green
crystalline mass. The product is dried
at 60-70℃.
During the whole procedure air must be
excluded to prevent darkening. Yield:
35.7 kg.= 52% theory.

60 L正丁醇和48 kg升华并研磨的1-氨基-5-萘酚加入搪瓷锅中。混合物在10-15℃搅拌,通氮气或者二氧化碳以取代空气。然后加入30 kg环氧乙烷,于3小时内混合物加热到75℃,当温度达到87℃时产生更剧烈的反应。反应物冷却到75℃,在此温度搅拌2小时,然后在109-114℃回流10小时,稍微冷却,加入75 L正丁醇。在95℃搅拌短时间,得到较好的物理状态,再冷却到45℃,用氮气压送进行压滤,用丁醇洗涤,直至所有深色液体洗去,残留物为灰绿色结晶,产品在60-70℃干燥,得到35.7 kg产品,收率52%。
在整个操作中必须排除空气以防止变为深色。
