Notes: 

The temperatures during addition of the sulphur must be kept below 20℃.   The 1,5-dinitro must be added slowly, otherwise excessive foaming occurs.

(i)  “Imin Base”

Add 32.2 kg. sulfur to mixture of 206 kg. 65% oleum and 126 kg. 100% sulfuric acid at 15-20℃ during 1/2 hour.

Then add 800 kg. 100% sulfuric acid.  Starting at 20℃ add 100 kg. Alpha Acid (1,5-dinitro naphthalene) at such a rate the temperature does not exceed 45℃.  Time required – 2 hours.  Agitate 1 hour allowing temperature to ride down if it will.  Filter on brick nutsch covered with Vinoflex cloth to remove sulfur.  Run filtrate into 800 l. water mixed with 4500 kg. ice.  Neutralize by adding 2600 kg. 34.5% sodium hydroxide and about 150 kg. soda ash.  Filter in press and wash salt free with cold water.   Yield 96 kg. 100% as paste.

65% oleum 206 kgと100% 硫酸126 kgの混合に15-200でS 32.2 kgを1-2 hで加え，100% 硫酸800 kgを追加，1,5-ジニトロナフタリン100 kgを200から加え始め，450以下2 hで加え1 h搅拌してSを滤過し，滤液を水800 l +冰4.5 tに排出，NaOH 34.5% 液2.6 tおよびNa2CO3 150 kgを加えて中和し，滤過，冷水で洗う。 96 kg, 100% as paste.

在15-20℃于0.5小时内向206 kg 65% 发烟硫酸和126 kg 100% 硫酸的混合物中加入32.2 kg硫黄，然后加入800 kg 100% 硫酸，并冷却到20℃。保持在45℃于2小时内加入100 kg 1,5-二硝基萘。混合物搅拌冷却1小时，在石制过滤器中过滤去硫黄。滤液流入800 L水和4500 kg冰的混合物中，用2600kg 34.5% 氢氧化钠溶液和150 kg碳酸钠中和，压滤，水洗至不含盐，得到5-氨基-8-羟基-1,4-萘醌亚胺。
