Outline:  4-Chloro-2-aminophenol (page 207) is acetylated in aqueous suspension.

Plant:  1  Iron, rubber-lined vat, 10000 l. capacity.  1  Iron, rubber-lined nutsche, 3000 l. capacity.

       1  C.I. tile-lined blow-egg, 8000 l. capacity.  Hydro-extractor.

Materials:   4-Chloro-2-aminophenol (as hydroxchloride )  329 kg. at 100%

       Acetic anhydride   245 kg. at 100%.     Soda ash     as required.

Process:

The 4-chloro-2-aminophenol hydrochloride solution (as obtained from the reduction, see page 209) is basified with soda ash to precipitate the free base, and the necessary quantity of acetic anhydride is then run in at 25-30⁰.

Test:  for completion of acetylation by nitrite estimation.

The 4-chloro-2-acetamidophenol slurry is filtered on the nutsche, hydro-extracted and dried.  Yield = 85% of theory.

Hergang:  Chlororthophenol wird mit Essigsaeureanhydrid behandelt.

Einsatz:   160 kg Nitrit = 329 kg 100% Chlororthophenol.  245 kg 100% Essigsaeureanhydrid.

Verfahren:

   Die mit Soda gefaellte Base wird in dieser waessrigen Suspension bei 25 - 30⁰ mit der berechneten Menge Essigsaeureanhydrid umgesetzt. Die Partie ist fertig acetyliert, wenn eine Probe: 250 ccm hoechstens 0.1 g Nitrit

Beim Diazotieren aufnimmst. Ist dies nicht der Fall, muss die entsprechende Menge an Essigsaeureanhydrid nachgegeben werden. Ist die Partie fertig, wird sie auf die Nutsche gezogen, geschleudert und getrocknet.

Ausbeute:  85% d. Th.

Gehalitaetbestimmung durch Diazotierung nach Verseifung. 

Qualitaetsbestimmung: Loeslichkeitbestimmung durch Kristallisation aus verduennter Essigsaeure.

Rein 9.7 %, Normal 11.4 %.  Hoechster Wert 12. (niedrigst 10.3).
