4’-Nitro-2’,5’-dimethxybenzanilide is hydrolysis with alcoholic
caustic.
Materials:
4’-Nitro-2’,5’-dimethoxybenzanilide MW 302 ≌ 80 kg. NaNO2 = 622 kg.(100/ 12.9)(97% Nitro value)
Alcohol 1000 kg. Caustic
liquor 40 vol-% 130 l.
Plant:
1 Iron pan (4000 l.)with jacket for steam and water connection, propeller
agitator. 20 r.p.m.

Process:
The alcoholic hydrolysis vessel is charged with 622 kg
of 4’-nitro-2’,5’-dimethoxybenzanilide (100/12.9 = 80 kg NaNO2) and
1000 kg. of alcohol (90-94%) are then run in. It is heated to 500,
130 l. of caustic liquor (= 52 kg NaOH) run in, heated to 68-700,
and held at this temperature for 1 hour. As hydrolysis occurs, the deep-yellow,
small, crystalline benzoyl-compound changes into large brownish-yellow
crystals.
It is cooled to 250 and blown to a nutsche
where it is washed with diluted alcohol, then with water, finally
hydro-extracted and dried at 650C.
Yield =
203 kg dry product (100 kg
= 35.47 NaNO2) = 72 kg NaNO2 = 90.0% theory.
Quality: The nitro-content (titranous) must be 99-100% of the
nitrite value.
The alcohol is recovered in the distillation unit (90%
recovery).

在4000 L铁锅中加入622 kg 4’-硝基-2’,5’-二甲氧基苯甲酰苯胺(相当于80 kg NaNO2),然后流入1000 kg 90-94% 乙醇,加热到500C,流入130 L 40% NaOH溶液。加热到68-700C, 在此温度保持1小时。水解发生后,苯甲酰化合物的深黄小结晶转变为大的棕黄色结晶。
冷却到250C,抽滤,用稀乙醇洗涤,然后水洗,用水压机压干后在650C干燥。
得到203 kg 干的4-硝基-2,5-二甲氧基苯胺,相当于72 kg NaNO2. 收率90%。
乙醇蒸馏回收,回收率90%。
