Outline: Gama acid is condensed with β-chlorethanesulphonic acid under pressure at 150℃. 

Plant:

1  Cast steel autoclave with steam coils and stirrer 3500 l.。   1  Tiled vat 8000 l.。    1  Press for alkaline filtration.

Charge:

Gama acid ground  426 kg. act. wt. ≈117 kg. NaNO2.。    β-Chlorethanesulphonic acid  375 kg.  100% as 15% solution.。

Caustic flake   70 kg.。   Chalk   180 kg.。

Melt:  The autoclave is charged with the β-chlorethanesulphonic acid, the gama acid then charged and sufficient caustic soda to give 2500 l. of neutral solution.  After addition of 180 kg. of chalk, the autoclave is closed and heated to 150℃.  The pressure is then slowly bleed off so that it does not rise above 5 atm.  The temperature is held at 150℃. until the condensation is complete, which was the case after 10 hours with the first works batch.

Work up:  The vessel contents are diluted with 700 l. of hot water, made weakly alkaline with soda (120-130 kg.), filtered through the press and the chalk residue washed.  The resulting clear solution is treated with hydrochloric acid to make only weakly alkaline to Brilliant Yellow paper and then transferred to the Dyestuff Department.   Yield (total liquor) 95% theory.

γ-酸与β-氯乙烷磺酸在150℃加压缩合。

在3500 L铸钢高压釜（有蒸汽蛇管和搅拌器）中，加入375 kg β-氯乙烷磺酸（配成15% 溶液），然后加入426 kg研磨过的γ-酸（实际重量，相当于117 kg 亚硝酸钠）和70 kg 片状氢氧化钠，得到2500 L中性溶液。加入180 kg 碳酸钙后，关闭高压釜，加热到150℃。然后缓缓释去压力，使其不超过5巴，温度保持在150℃，直至缩合完成，这需要经过10小时。

釜内物用700 L热水稀释，加120-150 kg 碳酸钠使呈碱性，压滤，碳酸钙滤渣洗涤。得到的清晰溶液用盐酸处理，仅对亮黄试纸呈弱碱性。

整个液体送往染料生产车间。收率95%。
