Process:   Condensation:

The condensation vessel is charged with 3000 l. of water, 450 kg. of sodium acetate solution, 190 kg. of milk of lime, and m-nitrobenenzenesulphoyl chloride equivalent to 185 kg. NaNO2 .  At room temperature, 256 kg. of aniline are run in slowly.

The second-half of the materials are then added, viz: 190 kg. of milk of lime and m-nitrobenzenesulphonyl chloride equivalent to 185 kh. NaNO2 ,followed by a further 256 kg. of aniline.  The mixture should still show acetic acidity.

It is finally heated to 700 and tested for completion of condensation:

Test:  A sample is filtered, and the filtrate estimated with nitrite for aniline.  The solid material recrystallised from alcohol, should have a m. p. of 1250.

When condensation is complete, the solid is filtered, and washed with cold water..

在12000 L砖衬缩合釜中加入3000 L水，450 kg饱和乙酸钠溶液，190 kg石灰乳和相当于185 kg NaNO2的间硝基苯磺酰氯。在室温下缓缓加入256 kg苯胺。然后加入一半物料，即190 kg石灰乳，相当于185 kg NaNO2 的间硝基苯磺酰氯，再加入256 kg苯胺。混合物应呈醋酸酸性。最后加热到70℃,并检验缩合的完成。

检验 – 取样过滤，滤液用NaNO2试验是否有苯胺。固体物从乙醇中重结晶，熔点应为126℃。缩合完毕，将固体物过滤，冷水洗涤。
